What camp means to me:

I am 50 years old and I still can't wait to get to camp. To me, Camp Conquest is a chance to get up close and personal with God. It is a place where we can leave our stress, troubles, fears and worry's behind. God created the heavens and the earth, the trees and the animals and then He created Camp Conquest. For someone who has never experienced camp one might say you missed out on some of God's special gifts.

There is nothing better than being in the mountains and hearing the children sing and laugh from a distance or hearing the birds singing first thing in the morning. The smell of a camp fire, the slumbering sound of crickets at night or the thousands of stars in the night sky. I even love to hear a thunderstorm as it comes over the mountain because it reminds me of God's awesome power and control. But most of all, I love that I serve God and His children here at Camp Conquest. I won't lie to you, it is hard work, but worth every second. There is nothing as sweet and moving as a child accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior and watching the transformation before your eyes.

That's what Camp Conquest is to me.
