Pete's Story:

Pete's Story

Thank you for another wonderful year! The Lord really did a good work in the hearts of my students this week. [John] left with the desire to own his own Bible and to be baptized and [Samantha] made a decision (to the best of my understanding) to rededicate her life to the Lord. Being crammed in a van for a 2 hour ride home with no a⁄c, there were minimal flair ups and there was even singing for most of the way home.

As soon as we got into Philly, there was an accident that occured right in front of us. The car that caused it pulled away from the scene and the 2nd car, though the bumper was crinkled, pulled out and took chase. The first reaction of [Samantha] and [Amy] was to pray for the people involved so that they would "be cool" and not act violently toward one another. After praying, [John] recognized that the Lord had protected us and that if we had left 1 second earlier then we would have been in the accident as well. It was neat to see how in tune with God my students were on the ride home.

Thank you also for giving me the opportunity and privilege to teach on Sunday evening. It was a real blessing for me and set the tone of my heart for the remainder of the week. Thank you also for the curriculum provided for the small groups. I was doubtful that it would match what the specific spritual needs were for the campers at those set times, but it did match and worked very well. It was also a pleasure working with Eric and Jodie. They let me take the reigns most afternoons and evenings during the small group time, giving me more opportunities to teach.

This was an exciting week for me and I wish I would have had the foresight to journal throughout the day so that I was able to share with you the many impactful moments and conversations that took place.

Once again, thank you for another wonderful year and allowing my students to come to camp. I hope to be back next year.
